It all started with a Google Sheet in Iceland.
We love traveling as a group, but we quickly realized that the 'post-trip' math can be a nightmare. During a trip through Iceland and Spain with friends from both Taiwan and the EU, we found ourselves in 'Formula Hell.' We were juggling Icelandic Króna, Euros, and New Taiwan Dollars, trying to figure out who owed what across three different currencies.
We looked for an app to help, but we ran into two big problems: either our friends didn't want to download yet another app, or the 'pro' features required a monthly subscription. For someone who only travels once or twice a year, paying a monthly fee felt like a tax on our vacation.
So, we built Travel Splitter.
We wanted a tool that works for everyone—from the 'Excel friend' who loves recording every receipt, to the 'chill traveler' who just wants to see the final total. No app downloads, no subscriptions, and no more massive spreadsheets. Just a simple, fair way to split the bill so you can focus on the next destination.
